VT National Guard Maintenance Facility

The Combined Support Maintenance Facility for the Vermont Army National Guard at Camp Johnson was a challenge and a privilege for The Burley Partnership to undertake. 60,000 square feet of program space was laid out to serve the varied equipment maintenance needs of the Army National Guard. The building includes a dedicated paint bay, welding shop, electronics workrooms, and three crane bays, one of which contains the largest crane in the state of Vermont. All of this was achieved in an attractive brick building, with massing which descends to the human scale, and offers quality machinist spaces open to the natural light.

The energy-efficient building is heated by a wood chip fueled plant.
